Williams Flash pinball is a 1979 machine that has been totally rebuilt and restored. The game was released by Williams Mfg. Co. in January of 1979 and was the first game from any pinball manufacturer to have a dynamic background sound during game play. It is also the first game to have flash lights under the play field for a unique visual effect. This game is rated among the top pinball games of all time by collectors. I picked up this machine in a non-working state from a distributor in northern Virginia.
The game has been converted to free play and set to 5 balls per game. It has a unique ball shooting mechanism that shoots the ball into play across the playfield. It also has 3 flippers rather than the usual 2 of most pinball games.
It is also the first game from any manufacturer to use Flash Lamps, which provide a temporary burst of flashing light intended primarily for the sake of its visual effect, in contrast to the usual playfield lamps that either provide constant general illumination or turn on and off only as indicators of specific playfield objectives or their point values. This game has been totally restored and both the CPU and Driver computer boards have been replaced with new Rottendog electronic boards. In addition, the old high voltage gas score displays have been replaced with new Rottendog digital LED displays that are maintenance free and run on low voltage. The power supply is also new and is a solid state Rottendog unit. All of the electronics in this game are brand new.
Free Pinball Flash Games
I recently sold FLASH to a local family with twin 6 year old boys. They are really into Super Hero things we I did some mods to Flash to make it more like a super hero theme. Nothing that cant be removed when the boys are older. Added some red strobe lights and metal badges and signs. I have posted a photo of the game as sold below
